Pollyanna Project Day 1

Good morning everyone! Today is the first day, in over a year, that I have gotten up before my kids did. Last night I set my alarm and said I'd wake up to it. Like the great Mel Robbins, I counted 5-4-3-2-1 and got out of bed. I was a little shocked, to say the least, and still am, that after 30 minutes my kids still aren't awake.

Now, why did I do this? What is my purpose in getting an hour less sleep?

Like I said in my first post, I am trying to find my Pollyanna, which is what I call my happier, more energetic, and best version of myself.

In trying to do that, I've turned to many personal development gurus of today and have decided to mesh up lots of what they say to do. ...don't worry! I'll go through each guru and do a review of sorts of their work.

First: Mel Robbins with her 5 second rule. 5-4-3-2-1 and go do the thing! Wake up! Clean the stuff! Change my attitude!

Second: Hal Elrod with his Miracle Morning. Truly, taking the time to do his S.A.V.E.R.S. will benefit me.

Third: Rachel Hollis with her, well, everything! I mean she's amazing.

Fourth: Gretchen Rubin with her Happiness Project, which inspired me to call my search for a better me my Pollyanna project.

Fifth, and the most important, isn't a personal development guru. President Russel M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with his charge to learn, read about, and come unto Christ.

It is my hope and my desire that by combining these ideas and actions into my own Pollyanna Project, I will be the version of myself that I know I can be. That I will be able to progress and become more like Jesus Christ, and teach my children, and myself, that it is expected to learn and grow step by step.

Till tomorrow, stay nerdy my friends!

Be weird. Be you. Be wonderful.
